ERASMUS TRAINEESHIP
My name is Ece, and I am from Istanbul, Türkiye. I am currently studying Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. As part of my Erasmus internship, I had the opportunity to come to Łódź, Poland, where I completed my clinical placement with neurological patients.
Coming to Poland for my Erasmus internship was an exciting experience for me. It was not only an opportunity to gain professional experience in physiotherapy, but also a chance to experience a different culture, meet new people, and step outside of my comfort zone. At the beginning, I was a little nervous about living in a new country and adapting to a different environment. However, I gradually became more comfortable and started to enjoy every part of the experience.
During my clinical placement, I had the opportunity to work with neurological patients. This experience helped me understand how important physiotherapy is in the rehabilitation process of patients with neurological conditions. I observed and participated in different aspects of rehabilitation and had the chance to improve my clinical knowledge and communication skills. Working with patients also taught me that every patient has different needs and that rehabilitation requires patience, empathy, and an individual approach.
One of the most enjoyable parts of my Erasmus experience was travelling and discovering new places. During my stay in Poland, I visited Kraków and Wrocław. I also had the opportunity to travel to Prague. Each city had its own atmosphere, history, and beauty, and visiting these places made my Erasmus experience even more memorable. Exploring new cities, trying different foods, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures gave me memories that I will never forget.
Living in Łódź also gave me the opportunity to experience everyday life in Poland. Being away from home helped me become more independent and confident. I learned how to adapt to a new environment, communicate with people from different backgrounds, and enjoy the little moments of everyday life.
Looking back, my Erasmus internship was much more than a clinical experience. It was a journey that helped me grow both professionally and personally. Working with neurological patients improved my understanding of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, while living abroad helped me become more open-minded, independent, and adaptable.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to experience Erasmus in Łódź. I will always remember the people I met, the patients I worked with, the cities I visited, and the experiences I had during this period. This experience has become an important part of my university life, and I believe it will continue to influence me both as a physiotherapist and as a person.
I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to all my colleagues and everyone who supported me during my internship. Their kindness, patience, and willingness to help made me feel welcome and comfortable from the very beginning. I truly appreciate everything they taught me, both professionally and personally. I am especially grateful for the friendly atmosphere they created and for all the small moments we shared during my time in Łódź. Their support made my internship experience even more meaningful and memorable, and I will always remember them with gratitude.
