Materiały z wykładów otwartych
W dniu 19 grudnia 2025 roku odbył się wykład poświęcony problematyce używania e-papierosów przez młodzież, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem aktualnych trendów, uwarunkowań społecznych oraz regulacji prawnych w Australii. Wykład poprowadziła dr Carmen Lim z National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research (NCYSUR) na Uniwersytecie Queensland specjalizująca się w badaniach nad używaniem e-papierosów oraz cyfrowym monitoringiem zachowań zdrowotnych młodych ludzi.
Podczas wystąpienia omówiono m.in. skalę i dynamikę zjawiska wapowania wśród młodzieży, reakcje społeczne na restrykcyjną politykę antynikotynową, rolę mediów społecznościowych w promocji e-papierosów oraz wyniki badań dotyczących tzw. „efektu bramy” prowadzącego do palenia tytoniu. Zaprezentowano również innowacyjne podejścia do profilaktyki, w tym wykorzystanie narzędzi opartych na sztucznej inteligencji w kampaniach edukacyjnych.

On 19th December 2025, a lecture focused on youth vaping was held, addressing current trends, social determinants and regulatory approaches in Australia. The lecture was delivered by Dr Carmen Lim from the National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research (NCYSUR) at The University of Queensland specialising in e-cigarette use, digital surveillance, and youth health behaviours.
The presentation covered key topics including the rising prevalence of e-cigarette use among young people, public and professional responses to Australia’s restrictive vaping policies and the role of social media in promoting vaping products. The lecture also discussed evidence regarding the “gateway” hypothesis linking vaping to cigarette smoking, as well as recent research on how exposure to vaping-related content influences susceptibility and future use. In addition, innovative prevention strategies were presented, including the use of artificial intelligence to develop tailored vaping awareness campaigns for young people.
